Holiday Baking! Doll-size Baking Craft Ideas

The holiday season is coming soon, so I wanted to gather some craft ideas for miniature baking. Mmm, yum!

1. Katie's Baking Book Printable

This is the book I created based on one of my dolls, Katie, who owns a bakery in our dolltown. I put "unnecessary" details into this book just for fun! Haha. The book has many recipes and photos you can use in a baking scene. 

What you see in the picture below:
  • Whisked Memories: A Baking Journey by Katie Miller
  • Eggs in a white bowl and a whisker I borrowed from my daughter's miniature collection
  • An egg I bought from Temu. 
  • Pink hearts muffin pan I bought at Daiso. It was a mini hearts chocolate mould. I cut it into smaller pieces.
  • A heart cookie cutter I made using a tiny piece of aluminum foil.
  • A sheet of cookie dough with heart shapes I made using whole wheat flour + school glue + water. 
  • A piping bag with whipped cream. I made it using a piece of plastic bag + wheat flour + school glue + warm white acrylic paint.

2. New Doll Times Magazine December 2022

The magazine featured miniature food artist @funw.ithdolls. The cover photo is perfect for the season, and recipes are inside.

3. How To Make Hot Glue Pie by My Froggy Stuff

In this video, Toya teaches how to make pumpkin pie using hot glue. I love her glue gun food series.

4. How To Make Craft Foam Desserts by Poppy Seed Mini

This video tutorial shows how to make a variety of miniature desserts using colourful craft foams. They provide a printable that goes with this craft project. It looks easy & fun!

5. How To Make Cookie Sheets by Life In Mini

While searching for holiday baking craft ideas, I stumbled upon this blog Life In Mini. Her miniature scale is 1:12 which is smaller than Barbie's (1:6), but I just fell in love with her beautiful miniature photos. This post about miniature cookie sheets could be okay for Barbie size.

6. How To Make Sponge Cake by Lily Bear Creates

This is a blog post I wrote in August 2022. There are step-by-step instructions on how to make a realistic miniature sponge cake. Try this if you feel like a craft today.

New Doll Times Magazine September 2024: justken61

A few weeks ago, I posted a newspaper printable collaborated with Julia from @justken61 . (Check the post from 👉 here .) Julia has two Instagram accounts, @justken61 and @plasticplot . She creates doll stories that bring you a lot of laughs. In today's post, you will see more photos of Ken by Julia because Ken is featured in September's New Doll Times Magazine! New Doll Times Magazine November 2024: ifiwereadoll

Do you like miniature books? I love miniature books. The book is one of the first items I made for my dolls. When I started making miniatures for Barbie dolls back in 2020, I used to make simple miniature books by cutting and gluing papers. It was easy but looked...you know, not so great. Haha. Thanks to creators like this month's guest for New Doll Times Magazine, there are a lot of miniature book printables available online! This month, the magazine featured Luma, the owner of an independent bookstore in a dolltown created by Chris from  @ifiwereadoll .
